Wales is a country famous for its beautiful landscapes, mid Wales and north Wales in particular, which are dominated by mountains and hills with literally hundreds of stunning walking routes and some excellent climbing.

For such a small country, it manages to cram in an enormous amount; spectacular mountain peaks, lush green valleys and miles of endless sandy beaches. If it's outdoor adventures, a taste of a truly unique culture or just peace and quiet you're after you've come to the right place.

There are three national parks in Wales: the Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia and the Pembrokeshire Coast, which is the UK's only coastal Park. They've all been set up with one purpose; to protect this stunning natural landscape and preserve its vast array of wildlife. The parks cover almost a quarter of the country.

Wales is also famous for its contribution to the British music scene. It has produced some classic Indie bands including: The Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics and the Supper Furry Animals. Then there's the legendary Shirley Bassey and the 'unforgettable' Tom Jones. Other famous Welsh people include, Catherine Zeta Jones, Richard Burton and Anthony Hopkins.

The Welsh are a passionate, humorous, friendly and unpretentious race with a deep sense of history and community. They speak their own Celtic language and have their own culture, poetry and song. No nation loves to eat, drink and talk more and visitors are always invited to join in.

Welcome to Wales!
