Wales is the birthplace of rock climbing. It has some of the best climbing on the planet!
The sport first began back in the 19th Century; people have been testing themselves, pushing themselves to the limit on the challenging Welsh crags ever since. Everest hero George Mallory first scaled the peaks of North Wales back in the early 1900s.

Some of the best places to go rock climbing, abseiling and coasteering are the Snowdonia mountains, Mid-Wales and the sea cliffs of North Wales, Pembrokeshire and the Gower. The conditions here can be challenging, but also extremely rewarding.

Wales also has some world class caving opportunities. If going underground is your thing, check out the Ogof Draenen in South Wales. It’s one of the world’s top caving sites with over 60 kms of underground passages.
